New Irvine Law Office Launches “Checklist” Program to Help Local Drivers Respond to an Accident
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety (www.ots.ca.gov/), the number of Orange County traffic accidents, collisions and car wrecks averages around 32,000 each year. Partners John Hinman and Chris Peck, founders of Hinman Law Group opened a new office in Irvine (9210 Irvine Center Drive) and launched a safety “checklist” program to help local drivers respond to an accident.
Following a traumatic incident, like a car accident, our bodies produce adrenaline and endorphins that help us to deal with the trauma, making it more difficult to think clearly and adding to the difficulty of dealing with a stressful situation.
The safety “checklist” program is a public service designed to help guide victims in times of high stress. It provides a checklist of suggested actions to take following any type of motor vehicle accident.
The checklist includes includes information on:
- How to stay calm
- What to do once you determine there are no life threatening injuries
- What information and photographs are necessary to obtain
- and other tips to guide accident victims.

“Motor vehicle accidents can be stressful and chaotic situations,” says Chris Peck. “No one wants to be involved in one, but for many of us living in Orange County, regular freeway commuting and the increased risk of being involved in a car accident is a reality, so it is important to know what to do if you are in a wreck. We have created a checklist that any driver can keep in their car’s glove box so they are fully prepared in the event of an emergency,” he added.
